Creative Life

How does a fine artist and software nerd end up in animation? I'm still trying to figure that one out. What began as a muse in pre-web era, has now become my creative focus. For most of my projects, paint brushes and sculpting clay have been replaced by pixels and keyframes.

My Journey to Creativity
Digital tools have transformed how a lot of us work. This is especially true in illustration and commercial art were you can enjoy "undo" (try that with a real airbrush)!  Artists iterate with colour choices and composition non-destructively. The line between actual photos and digital facsimiles is hazy. For example, when you buy a car, all the marketing images and ads, are rendered in 3D months before the cars are even built! Here are a few examples I created for real-time rendering applications.
